Tufts University School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position, assistant/associate professor rank, within the Department of Endodontics. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. The Search Committee at TUSDM is particularly interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and service, will be an asset to the University.
The selected individual will have primary responsibilities in teaching predoctoral and post-graduate students. The duties will include preclinical and clinical education, endodontic seminars and literature review as well as clinical supervision of patient care. Expectations will include good working relations with students and faculty, participation in academic activities, and scholarly activities leading to future development and promotion.
Candidates must have experience in teaching didactic, clinical and preclinical endodontics. Faculty in the Department of Endodontics will be expected to establish and continue educational goals of the department and the process of high quality patient care. Emphasis for teaching in the predoctoral area will be on thorough endodontic knowledge, patient care and be responsible for preparing students to pass the WREB and CDCA licensure examinations. The post-graduate teaching emphasis focuses on clinical excellence and preparation for Board Certification from the American Board of Endodontics.
Applicants must have a certificate in Endodontics from a CODA recognized institution, be Board certified/eligible in Endodontics by the American Board of Endodontics, and hold a D.D.S./D.M.D. or equivalent degree. Appropriate advanced credentials such as M.S. or Ph.D. are preferred but not required. Participation in appropriate national and international professional and scientific organizations is desired.
